Most of the fuel pressure test kits out there are much more 
complicated than needed for our cars. They tend to have threaded 
fittings to connect to special ports on much later cars. For our cars 
all you need is a length of 8 mm (5/16") hose to push over the round 
fitting VW provided. That fitting is on the left side of your engine, 
sticking up between the ports for the #3 & 4 injectors. There is a 
screw in it that you have to remove to open the port.

The fuel pressure setting is something that typically never needs to 
be readjusted. I've never seen them wander due to wear, but it's 
always possible that yours has been tampered with and needs to be 
reset. Once you're done, you'll probably need a #6 nylon washer to 
replace the alum sealing washer which may have crumbled when you 
removed the central screw.  

Yes, 30 psi is the correct pressure, but that depends on having a 
gauge that's correctly calibrated.

My stock '73 runs perfectly on 10% ethanol, but Keith will now tell 
us how that's impossible.  ;-)
