If I wipe the stick and pull it right out which I did three times it is
always at the low mark . If I wipe and insert and wait a few seconds it's at
the high mark. I only did that once because if it stayed at the low mark I
would have added more fluid. . I did this all within a few minutes and never
moved into drive or reverse or reved the engine . I just let it idle at 900
RPM in park .

When I first filled after the pan was off I put 6 pints in and then checked
it a few times and couldn't tell so I drove it 3 miles and pulled the stick
and it was just below the low mark so I added 6 oz more and all the time it
was running and I waited so the fluid would drain down the filler tube to
get a true read. This didn't bring it up much so I added another 6 oz and
waited . I t was not until I added a pint or 16oz over the 6 pints 5 oz
Bentley states that it finally read to the high mark and the full width of
the stick which it always seems to do up to or slightly below the low mark .
I don't consider fluid covering less than half the width of the stick an
accurate reading. Right now I have 7 pints 5 oz in this trans .
