If you get enough drips of fluid to be mildly annoying, your pipes can't be
blocked! Using the rubber cap to close off the flared end while working on
the other end is a good tip - I'm not sure I've seen that written up in any
manuals, though it's a trick I use.

Subject: [T3] Brakes and Hoses

Got a LR brake hose on-line from a place called CARDiD, with one end M the
other F....at proper length.  Only $9 (but $10 shipping).  Went to install
it right off the UPS truck.
Never did that before...and advice isn't in Bentley.  After struggle, sm.
flashlight in teeth, and very wet hands, realized that it SEEMS that one
does not have to undo the nut on the upper metal brake line, NOR  (I think)
does one have to undo the 10 mm bolt holding the connection to the bracket.
It seems that all you have to do is a) undo the lower metal brake line, b)
remove the holding clip for the rubber hose, c) THEN use 15 mm open end to
undo the hose at top connection.
Then quickly install the new hose...screwing it into the top first.  No way
to prevent dripping fluid unless the extra step is taken to undo the upper
metal line, then put a rubber valve cap over the tip of the line while you
attach the hose.    BUT...access to that nut on top at the metal line is Not
Easy...and getting the nut started and tight again might take some time and
effort and drip as much fluid as not doing that.
Is this the right...best...way to do this?

Will actually do this job at next opportunity.  THEN see if a real bleed
job brings brakes back to normal.   This will be Hose Number 3 replaced.
The 4th one (FR) looks almost new.
