[T3] Tie Rod Ends....

Which way does the tie rod end (driver side, the one linked to the wheel) screw INTO its tie rod? Clockwise or counter-clockwise?

Since I can't yet undo the ends from the tie rod, I can't tell. I don't want to be trying, with much effort, to turn it in the wrong direction. With the tiny one (difficult) revolution I got out of it, I can't tell if the rod end is coming out or going in.

Muir and Bentley manuals aren't clear on this.

Go to ebay.com and search for:

tie rod end (remover, extractor, press)

This will give you a bunch of possible tools. Ignore the pickle fork

style, as those work, but they destroy the tie rod end. The simple

screw press style is what works for me, but the teeter-totter style

should work just as easily.

There are lots of choices on ebay, but the ones I like all seem to

come from the UK. They are cheap, but shipping will probably take

longer than you want. So, with the idea in mind, see if there's a

place in your town that rents tools; they may have something useful.

I don't have an answer to your one revolution problem, unless you're

turning it the wrong way. Remember one end has a left hand thread.
