[T3] Rear Deck Mat - '69 Square

The anchor strip can be carefully prised up away from the rubber, then
tapped back down. I would be very surprised if you can find a NOS brown
mat. Even the proper black ones with the deep rib to fit the engine hatch
slot are fairly scarce. It's not too hard to cut a piece of cord carpet to
shape, and even get a carpet shop to bind the edges if you need it.
Otherwise I would back it with strong adhesive tape (eg 'Duck' tape), and
use some superglue (or flexseal??) on the edges to strengthen the joint.
Maybe fold it towards the reinforcing tape to open the joint while glueing.

The old rubber is getting prone to cracking particularly when you lift it to
get access to the engine hatch. Try to roll it rather than fold.

Subject: [T3] Rear Deck Mat - '69 Square

My '69 Square, brown rubber(?), rear deck mat seems to have "dried out" and
now is broken into two pieces. I've checked JBugs and CIP1. Neither seem
to offer that item. Are there any other companies who may have a supply of
rear deck mats?

Questions:

   1. Is the mat held in place by a metal strip which "pinches" the forward
   edge?
   2. Can the "anchor" be carefully "opened up", to release the mat?
   3. If the mat can be removed and laid upside down on a flat surface, can
the transversely cracked mat be *effectively* mended with something like
   FlexSeal Tape and/or FlexSeal Liquid?
   4. Does anyone have an OE mat in their"stash"?
