the center, facing the pad. There are 2 versions, early and late. Late
calipers
take larger pads and have larger attaching bolts which are spaced farther
apart.
A quick way to determine early and late calipers is to measure the caliper
attaching bolt spacing. For early calipers it's 2 3/4 inches between the
centers of the bolt heads. For late calipers it's 3 inches.
