parts are commonly available, thru the samba ISP west or T3 guys,
and if properly lubed and not lowered, the T3 front end internals will
last hundreds of thousands of miles.

The big question about keeping the type 3 beam is...where do you get parts
to rebuild it? It might be a better beam. But, a type 1 conversion will keep
it on the road.
