[T3] Narrowed beam conversion

Splines are the same, as are the lengths of the splined section. Swing  
Axle type 3s got what were called "long-long axles", versus 65 and earlier bugs 
 having "short-short axles" (what the type 3 and Ghia guys use to narrow 
the rear  of the car to fit wider tires). IRS cars use the long axle style set 
up on their  stub axles. The 65 backing plates will need 2 holes drilled in 
them to be able  to adjust the brakes. This is because the 65 wide 5 drums 
have a hole in the  front side, versus no holes in the 66 and later 4 lug 
drums. Just something to  be aware of if you're doing a conversion.
