[T3] Is there an adjustable pedal stop on 73 SB auto trans ?

That sounds OK to me. The 1mm is the actual movement of the pushrod before
it meets the sliding rear piston in the MC. That translates to 5 to 7 mm at
the pedal itself, due to the length of the pedal shaft.
There's a spring that returns the pedal, but no stop, apart from the
bulkhead.
The push-rod is adjusted when the car is built, to allow for manufacturing
tolerances. A gauge can be used to check the distance to the bulkhead for
the dual circuit MC. It's in the factory fuel manual (K). All the later
Type 3 push-rods I've measured have had the same dimensions, so I doubt
yours will be any different.

Bentley says there should be a distance of not less than 225mm from the back
of the pedal to the bulkhead, measured parallel to the ground (floor). That
should be all you need to check to put your mind at rest. If it is
significantly different, you will need to check that no-one has adjusted the
push-rod length rather than the clutch pedal stop position, which is the
correct way to adjust the push-rod clearance.

I never looked yet for some reason there is more free play on the push rod
than I feel is normal . Bentley states 1 mm at the MC and provides manual
trans specs as far as the pedal stop and how far the pedal should be from
the firewall .

I don't have brake issues yet if I move the pedal by hand to feel the push
rod free play at the pedal it's at least 1/2" or better. I can't find any
specs on how far the pedal should stand from the firewall . There must be a
stop at least to keep the brake pedal from falling to the floor.

My main concern is if one system fails the pedal can hit the firewall and
have no brakes on a dual circuit system.

I thought someone may know if there is an adjustable stop and I have no
idea if it was ever altered before I bought it in 85 or if the rod was
adjusted.
