Mine have the caps but they don't cover the threads just the tip which
helps to at least keep out water and dirt from entering the bleeder
opening. For a substitute I used to use those vacuum cap plugs as you know
they come in all sorts of sizes and are long enough to cover the threads of
the bleeder as well as seal the hole . I imagine if the surface area around
where the bleeder fits is clean one could seal it with silicone or perhaps
something better once the cap is in place or if careful apply the sealer so
it does not get on the bleeder threads . I sort of doubt sealer that is
easily removed would present an issue.
