[T3] Motor is out

set the end play to .0055 today, it was .005 with the last
build and no problems,  Engine is back in, need to hook up the topside
stuff on Monday and we'll see how she runs but everything was nice and
smooth when it was ready today.

back from vacation, pulled the engine tonight

and it does indeed have .003 end play just as I had set it up.

Maybe thats too tight...??

things looked OK with the shims and thrust surface etc.  

with the flywheel off the crank slides in an out effortlessly, as it should

turns over fine... at least when cold.

I have to pull the belt from the alternator and loosen the end play a bit,
maybe try .005 instead.

I do feel play in the cam gear, but as with the T3 engines you only get a 0
gear so thats expected.

 

dont have any smoking guns...
