[T3] Still too tight

This is good advice, I do basically the same thing, break in the cam first,
the oil changes and yea, even Joe Gibbs is cheap compared with T4 engine
parts!

I did a little more tuning today, and dumped the oil tonight.  I didnt find
anything bad at the bottom of the tuna can and when I cut apart the filter
it looked clean too, this is really GOOD news!  When I get back from the
holiday Ill put the regular oil back in it and see what happens.

Keith, is this the same cam you already broke in with the Brad Penn oil? If
so, you should be able to change it.
Just so you know, I normally run a fresh built engine for 20 minutes at 2K +
rpm to break in the cam. I then
change the oil, and run it for 300 miles to get the rings to seat, then
change the oil again and run it for 1 to
2K miles, and change it again. Oil is cheap, parts are expensive. YMMV

Yea know, I was curious enough about this to have googled it today.
DIdnt get any answers but I remember when I first broke in this engine with
the new cylinder set I complained to Jake Raby that my oil pressure was in
the toilet and he suggested not to worry about it and get the break in oil
out of there as early as 100 miles. That was a different oil, Brad Penn,
and I didnt have this problem then but
this is Joe GIbbs... but yea, its only in there for the Cam, ya think 40
miles is enough for that?

Ill get that oil out of there, and I can check the sump and filter for any
signs of bad things too...
