[T3] my 69 fastback wont start

Mark,

The generator and voltage regulator can't be part of the problem, because 
they don't do anything until the engine is running. If the battery is too weak 
to turn the engine over, then you might start to suspect the charging system.

When you turn the key ON (without trying to start) you should hear one relay 
click at that moment and another click ~1 second later. Do you hear both 
relay clicks?

Have you replaced the spark plugs? What did the old ones look like?

Have you checked the valve adjustment?

Any chance the distributor cap is the wrong one? The beetle cap will fit, but 
it's too tall and the rotor won't reach high enough to make contact. With the 
correct cap, you will feel a bit of spring pressure in the last fraction of an 
inch, as you install it.

What year is your Fasty? And how long has it been since it ran?
