You would't be the first person to drive a non-Type 3 to an Invasion. We 
don't shame those folks TOO much, after all, it's better to be there than not 
to be there.

OTOH, you've still got quite a bit of time to get your Type 3 roadworthy.
Yeah, it can be scary, and you want the car to be REALLY ready, but a good 
push now will be REALLY worth it once you're there.
