 I’ll try that . Also I have no idea why my wife’s email name is on my last reply . It uses my account yet says from Jude. Windows 10 is really difficult to get used to.

That will work, except rather than using the gasket maker, use muffler 
cement and work it and the alum well into the space between the HE pipe 
and the muffler tube. That will work better at these temps.

Yes, use the stock VW style clamp.
