ill bet between McMaster carr, MSC and Grainger, SOMEONE has that FI sleeve!
if not I do have a couple good ones...

Guess I'll add "NLA grey vinyl sleeving" to my list of reasons FI is too
scary ;)

That makes sense.  After all, VW seemed concerned with heat soak / vapor
lock in the type 3 engine compartment from the very beginning.  They never
bothered with heat shields on type 1 fuel pumps.

Yeah, the 10% stretch limit is one of the interesting bits I picked up from
that Volksbolts page.  I'm not sure it'll be any worse in practice than what
I've been using, though.  I believe most of the other braided hose that's
commonly available through VW parts suppliers is 5mm as well.  My primary
source, Wolfsbürg West, lists it as 5mm.  They could be truncating for
simplicity, I suppose.  Bughaus lists 5mm.  ISP West lists 5mm.  cip1 lists
5mm.
