[T3] MPS Stumper!

I have 2 MPS's for the 2056,

the 037 matching unit that Ive calibrated and run with the car, and a 049
that has also been calibrated,

however, recently that one is having issues... and odd ones, and
intermittant,

 

It either works fine, or in the wrong position etc, when you open the
throttle just a little from Idle unloaded it will bog down and the AFR gauge
quickly climbs to 21%!

 

Now first off, OK, its leaning out massively but WHY?  Coils test good,
nothing intermittant that I can find, opened it up, armature is silk
smooth... what is going on?  Some times if you have it in the right position
it works fine.  Checked the plug and wiring to it, that shows no signs of
issues in the 037 on the car.

 

and how does an AFR get to 21% if the car is still RUNNING?  it doesnt
stall...

 

what happened to my spare MPS?
