[T3] New to list - Notchback question

As you acknowledge, the numbers of each model are unpublished but total Type 3 production is recognised at around 2.5 million, of which about 1.2 million were Squarebacks. How the 1.3 million is split between Notchbacks and Fastbacks doesn't seem to have been tallied by anyone.

It seems likely that there would be similar enthusiasm for the 3-box saloon by the traditionalist as for the sporty coupé, but that's just an opinion.

If you see a total Type 3 production figure of 3.05 million, it includes the Type 34 Ghia and various Brazilian models, many of which are based on Beetle floorpans and upright engines.

Recent posts about 'missing' engine numbers simply reflect the use of the engine in Type 2 buses.  It's all part of the fun for Type 3  enthusiasts like us.  Welcome to the group.

Hello. Not sure how many subscribers are out there, but does anybody know
how many Notchbacks were produced?  Everything I found online refers to all
type 3's as a group, not separately by model.
