Got a lot of Seals & Trims for my 1972 Type 3 Auto Variant “ Body Off “
resto from VW ISP West. No problem with any of their Parts. Wing ( Fender )
Beadings, Outer Door Window Scrapers with Aluminium Trims, a whole list of
other Body Seals and Trims. All good. Alex and Anthony are good guys. The
only problem is the phenomenal Shipping Costs and Import Duties from
California to England !

Finally figured out that to fix/lube/replace the right door latch the
window regulator and such also need to be removed.

I'm in the since-I'm-already-there mode, so window scrapers are the logical
item to install with the door disassembled.

All of the rubber everywhere on my squareback is baked, cracked, chipped,
flaking, and barely there in some places.

So, what vendor has decent or good rubber bits for window scrapers, door
seals, window seals, hatch seals, etc?

I have all the hardware, except for the front windshield aluminum trim
piece which got caught in the car cover and partially pulled out and bent,
just need to soft bits.

Getting close to the since-I'm-there thoughts since all the rubber needs to
be removed . . . paint and body work time?

This weekend I removed all of the interior panels to trace and cut new
backing boards. The original vinyl is cleaning nicely. All of the backing
boards are warped, broken, or moldy. I found exactly one that I can reuse.

The seats have been removed as well. I installed a set of '69 brown
highback seats a long time ago and I may fix them too.

Who makes good seat covers and padding now?

What color is the seat base of a off/white interior front seat?

Are the ISP seat guides good? Mine are all broken.

Hi Guys

I had to swap my 71 fastback hood for another hood due to the front being
rotted out and I can't seem to get it to fit nicely.
The scuttle edge has the same gap, but it has a gap on the right front side
all the way along and the left is really snug.
Is there some adjustment somewhere other than the 2 rubber stoppers?

Regards
Steve

The bolts that attach the hood to the hinge have some slop in them.
Loosen them up and you can re-position the hood within the opening.

I just did this a few months ago and it made a huge difference.

Are there any other adjustments that need to be made as it doesn't look

Go with the ISP seals. They even offer the windshield trim piece. As for
seat covers, I use J-Bugs, since they share the building with TMI. ISP for
the seat rail plastic too. Bus inner seals, but use the old t-3 wires as the
bus
pieces are off. I think ISP has just started offering the outer rubbers for
the t-3, that you rivet on. They're more in cost than using bus inners for
outers, but fit
better and easier.
As for seat base color, is yours the gray or black color? It makes a
difference.I think Wurth makes a close to matching gray color.I hope this
helps.

You might need to tweek the hinges themselves in the direction of the
largest gap.Bob 65 Notch S w/Sunroof

I don't have the original seats or bases and it has been decades since I
saw them.
Is there some other place in the vehicle that would be painted the same
color as the seat base to determine if they should be gray or black?
