Yea, my dash gauge reads about half a volt low, most but not all the time,
it reads right off the battery though. Ive been double checking it with a
cig lighter gauge that is accurate, however that could vary with load
depending on where the cig lighter is wired, its always higher though... I
really need to get a fluke ON the battery to double check, maybe for this
weekends trip.

That much voltage is really hard on the battery, which will be even
higher than dash voltage. OTOH, I've found that those little chinese
cig lighter voltmeters are useful, but not accurate. Check it against
a VM you trust, like a Fluke.
