My doors really look like 68 doors. My question is did VW maybe use
later style doors at the end of the 67 model year? I know such things
happened in the other direction with left-over previous year parts
making it into the new model year.

At this point I'm not changing doors. These have been completely
redone and are about to be painted. And there are plenty of things
about this car that are not year-correct.

So it's just a curiosity question.
