Aiden is correct.

When Bob Heydt replaced my Heater Tubes & Rocker Panels below the doors, we
had a difficult time getting those (engine heated air) Diverter Flaps to
operate smoothly.

I did have to fabricate & paint those left- & right-side "grills" that are
installed in the footwells, for Bob to install.

A "push/pull" wire connects the flap to a knob through a (hidden) guide
tube, inside & higher on the  sidewall.

Since my '69 Square is only a summer driver, I have little need for those
flaps to operate perfectly.  ;-)
