FWIW , several years ago, I made two corrugated cardboard patterns of the
cargo area of my '69 Square. (My car color is Savanahbeige L-620 with Nut
Brown basketweave vinyl seats and floor carpet.)

1.) One large, cardboard pattern was cut to shape with the rear seat back
UP ... for carrying passengers &
2.) a separate, smaller cardboard pattern with the seat back folded DOWN
... for carrying additional cargo.

The original brown, rubber Cargo Mat had gotten brittle & finally "cracked"
where it had been folded over the rear seat back to remove the engine
hatch, too many times. :-(

I took the patterns to a local (Fond du Lac, WI) carpet store & picked out
a remnant.
An off-white color, with an overall, smooth/semi-short, plush yarn. Almost
a commercial weave.

I didn't want a dark color carpet because of fading and absorbing the heat
of the sun.

I had the carpet store cut the matching remnants "slightly under-size" to
allow for having the edges hemmed with Bias Tape.
I could have selected the edges to be "serged" with matching thread color,
but chose a tan Bias Tape.

The carpets have lasted 30 years, or more. They look good and have been
very durable.
