Those are usually Alco, or some asian copy. If you check the rating, often
stamped on the side of the metal part, you'll find both voltage and current
ratings. It's probably 250 V or less, while one terminal of the CDI wire
will be charging up to 400-450 V before each spark.

A full size toggle switch may still not be rated that high, but at least the
flashover paths will be longer.
