I've always wondered how the Socketless line of hose/connectors worked.
Good to hear that they are as good as advertized. I completely agree that
AN style fittings are usually unnecessary for our use.
For AN style fittings, here's a link to a different Aeroquip catalog. I don't see
the descriptions I thought I remembered in my very old paper version, but
there are assembly instructions on page 44. They are worth studying, as
they are not as obvious as one might hope.

There was a very short period when I was able to buy -5 (5/16") Aeroquip
fuel hose that was perfect for our cars, reasonably priced, and very high
quality. Then Aeroquip discontinued that size....
