Up thru MY '70, the under cylinder deflectors in Type 3s were the same as in Type 1s and
Type 2s. Starting in MY '71 Type 3s got different tins, eventually dubbed "Cool Tins," That
change also required different tin for each of the pieces that mount from the cylinder center
line and below. That includes the parts you're calling "sleds" as well as the short pieces at the
rear of cylinders 2 & 4.
I've been told that Beetles never got "Cool Tins," but I don't know this from personal
experience.
I'm not sure if I have any spares for those parts. I'm not interested in trades, but if you want
me to dig for late parts, let me know.
