When I first got my 71, it had been sitting 6 years so I went thru the
brakes, and after putting 2 bad rebuilts masters on it I rebuilt the one
that was on there,
And in the past 36 years and 234Kmi I haven't touched it, DOT 4 and all!
Ive been meaning to flush the system past 3 years but this year I noticed
the tell tale
Drip from the tunnel drain and the fluid was down so it was finally time
again. No surprises, as Jim Adney has stated, only the rearmost seal was
really the bad one but I threw
The kit in that had been sitting in the Frunk for the past quarter century,
the bore was still in good shape and didn't even need a hone. Still need to
bleed it out tonight but
Im glad this didn't happen invasion weekend, and now the system gets
flushed! No, not going with DOT 5, yet anyway, I don't have anymore spare
brake light switches and im not digging into the rest of the system to
clean that out. Maybe someday.
