My camp is off grid, with 1750 watts of solar and about 800AH of batteries Im just fine up there, but 
No "Piggy" electric users like hair driers or AC, but short uses of the microwave and toaster are still good, at least on a sunny day!
Very low carbon footprint up there!

CA just built a huge solar & battery storage complex where there's NO water for farming.
Winter wheat planters Nationwide can't make a living anymore @ $5/bushel!
Solar farms with sheep grazing/laying under them is working good.
