At one point of the drive, in the last few miles to my friends house in the 
woods, I must have missed a turn, so (one of) my devices tried to send me 
down what looked to be a completely tree covered, single lane,gravel "path." 
There was a sign next to the entrance that said something about this being a 
"Seasonal Road" which I'm guessing meant that it might not be passable in 
some seasons.

Beautiful, yes, but I had no idea where it led, other than generally north, 
because it turned about 50 yards in and disappeared.

I chose to backtrack and find the better route.

It's now days later and I'm back home, without incident.
