Sounds like some good prep for the drive to Wisconsin.

Our cars are put away for the winter here in SE Michigan as well. I am working on leather-wrapping the steering wheel for Jill’s Type 34 Ghia. After driving it out to Las Vegas last fall, those stock steering wheels are just too hard and too skinny to grip comfortably for any extended period of time. I am spoiled with Sophy, my 66 Square, as I have a sport steering wheel from a 70s era Beetle in it that is somewhat soft foam and about 3 times the girth of a stock wheel. I am also going to go through the steering column and ignition switch on her car as it was a little iffy at times on the drive to Vegas.

Sophy shouldn’t need much, but I might drop her engine in the spring and do a little clean up and retorquing, maybe some new gaskets. Try to reduce some of the oil leakage that she has had for a number of years. I really should just finish building the 2.0L motor for her, but I don’t think that is in the card for this Invasion.

Of course, I am still trying to make progress on the Sled, but that is a slow go with the weather and everything else Jill and I have going on.

Just a little over 5 months until the Invasion!

John
