[T3] Invasion Caravan Routes

Dave got the eastern route pretty settled,  Im heading to Rochester NY Tuesday evening after work, then Wed its Rochester to south bend IN, forget the hotel but it looks like it was chosen with a bunch of good restaurants nearby.  Then South bend to Eau Claire is only 400mi so plenty of time for the early bird dinner.  Going back on Monday, Eau Claire to Toledo, roughly the halfway point for me so then I head for Albany Tuesday and get home after letting Dave off at Rochester and in time to do an oil change, get to work the next day, and head to the lake Thursday for the holiday weekend.

Yes, NUTS that week...  lets see how the weather can fowl that up.

Remember the last invasion where it had been raining every weekend in Ticonderoga for over a year?  That NEVER STOPPED...  were now starting our 4th year in the Northeast of Rain on roughly 85% of the weekends, so far this year its well over 90% for the year!  Not a wet pattern now, but rain on nearly all the weekends with beautiful weeks in between.  About to start raining again now here at the camp...  just lucky to have had yesterday nice and this morning dry... the best we can get in the northeast.

 Weather for the invasion looks pleasantly cool from this far out, cool will rule for at least the next 3 week, and most of July in the northeast  with storms coming thru regularly but the invasion weekend itself looks good!

Uh oh, I hear thunder, must be Sunday!

I am sure that would be the plan, but Jill and I are actually heading to Eau Claire a week from today.  We need to get there early because we are flying from Eau Claire to Austin, TX on Monday morning for Jill’s brother’s wedding on Wednesday before flying back to Eau Claire on Thursday morning in time for the Early-Bird Gathering.  We will miss caravanning out to the Invasion with the rest of the Northeast Invaders, but can look forward to caravanning back with them after the Invasion.  It is going to be a little hectic but it will work out and be worth it.

Keith, Dave & Gail do you have a planned stopover or going to push through with a single run?  I did extend the Dearborn/Northeast Route all the way to the Capital District in NY….assuming you are taking the turnpike most of the way.  Let me know and I can tweak it if necessary.

For anyone coming to the Invasion from other directions, I am happy to add routes to the Invaders Map with stopover points shown.  I can also add a link to a Google Route Map if you generate one so folks can have a bit more detail when trying to connect.  Just email your plans and I will add them.  Please hit me up before this Sunday with the routes since once we head for the Invasion and Texas I will have more limited ability to make changes to the Invasion website.

Less than 2 weeks to go!
