Funny you should mention brake lines... On Thursday my wife and I blead the
brakes on Elwood - only to see a small puddle of brake fluid under the back
end of the car. The passenger side flex line is dripping, and I also looked
at the driver side, only to see "bulges" in the outer covering of that flex
line. I replaced both front flex lines when I restored Elwood in 2008, but
if I were a betting man - I would bet the rear flex lines are original to
the car. Good thing this was discovered BEFORE this trip!
Alex @ ISP West has both flex lines in stock (thank you, Alex) and shipped
them out right away on Friday from California to New York, saying that
"overnight" shipping isn't overnight when a weekend is involved. Fingers
crossed they get here today on Monday, but I could still be alright if they
show up on Tuesday. We leave early Wednesday, so there's the chance Elwood
won't make the trip if UPS doesn't demonstrate their game!
And here I was only concerned about Elwood not idling..
