start that match the colors but on have a number (50) and the (+) on them and
they terminate shortly after the starter picture. Also looks like the original
bend on the bundle would have routed it around over to the drivers site where
it might have gone over to the mount where that diagnostic connector used to
be. I sure hate it when people butcher wiring harnesses. </FONT></DIV>

<DIV>If you look in the Bentley wiring diagrams, you'll see orange circles (in
the color version). Those are part of the diagnostic system VW used in the
early 70's. These are now redundant, as that set up has long been replaced
with other forms of testing equipment. What most PO's do, is remove that plug,
and it's wiring to clean up the engine bay. You might say it's hacked, but had
the PO removed those last couple of wires, you would have never known it had
existed. :O And it's only now, (a few years later) that you're in there
digging that you found the remains of it. </DIV>
