My own personal experience for the past 13 years. Optima batteries have given me good service. I only use them in more modern alternator vehicles. Have four in service. Got twelve years out of my earliest one. These vehicles charge at a higher output.<div><br></div><div>Odyssey batteries in my motorcycles.</div><div><br></div><div>I don't now if the VW puts out enough power to properly charge either. My gut thinks not.
