I switched to aftermarket after my heater boxes gave up the ghost. I have<br>

it installed with J Pipes on my Fastback. I got the model where the muffler<br>

is tucked under the rear apron for more ground clearance. I have been happy<br>

with it - a bit more horsepower, quieter ride without leaks, and good<br>

clearance backing out of the driveway. But the answer is 'yes' regarding<br>

the rubber. After 10 months the rubber air intake boot was cooked and had<br>

come loose due to shrinkage. I replaced it with new Rubber and have been<br>

okay since. Both the muffler and Rubber boot are available from ebay seller<br>

pimpride from carson california.<br>
