It was the bearing inner race.</div><div>Bearings themselves look ok...without microscope examination...but there was a small flaw, like an eroded irregular crack less than a quarter inch long just short of the edge....outside surface of course.<br></div><div><br></div><div style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16px; font-family: times new roman,new york,times,serif; background-color: transparent; font-style: normal;">It doesn't look like wear...wasn't rust...but it was enough to be felt with finger nail. So, I replaced it...and the bearing (just to be cautious) and it's all fine. It was amazing how loud the noise was from that little flaw.
