got my batteris from the ford dealership all were interstate rebranded

<DIV>Oh, I don't blame you for checking, especially since it's your only
car/transportation. In Rob's case (my son) , he's got 2 other vehicles, IF he
really needed something. Or, he could also get a hold of me if he needed
something to drive, as I've got a few sitting around here too. But, in
our case, we were trying to get an engine (and car) to run that hadn't fired off
in a while. His car had been a runner, but we tore it down, and did a bunch of
revision work. then we added a slightly larger engine (a small 1.7 liter T-4
engine out of a 914-4) that had not been ran in years (on my end and Keith had
stored it as well). </DIV>
<DIV>We changed a bunch of stuff including the trans axle and the rear subframe
(converted the swing axle to IRS with bolt on T-3 parts), and this combo had
never been ran together. He had re-used his starter, but the engine barely
turned over on a new Walmart battery, so we changed the starter, and it didn't
help. Got the new battery from O'Reilly's, and it turned over, but felt that it
was dragging/battery was low on charge. Charged it up, and it's been good to go.

<DIV>I know we should have been testing things, but we had 4 days to get the car
up and running for him to take to our annual "cruise night" (I was still working
on the wiring Sunday, and we changed an alt belt right before he left since it
broke). We still have plans on getting it ready to go to the 2018 T-3
Invasion. In fact he's been sandblasting and I've been slicking the car in
preparation for paint. This is a side project for me, that's been eating up time
I should be using elsewhere, but it's my kids goal to take the car to it's 2nd
Invasion (he and his wife and it attended the 2008 T-3 Invasion (he's had the
car since 2002)), where it won Artist's choice" award in it's first outing.
Keith gave Rob a hard time for it being so modified, but the truth was it was
closer to being "stock" than Keith's 65 Notch. And now, it's even more
correct. :O</DIV>
