Reconnect the temp sensor.<br>
<br>
Unplug the throttle position switch (TPS.)<br>
<br>
Try the exercise as above again. Is the RPM swing gone? If so, it may just <br>
be the normal TPS contact pulsed enrichment. If that's all it is, you can <br>
ignore it. If you want, I can send you my faq on testing your TPS and making <br>
sure it's set correctly. Note that nothing you've indicated points to a <br>
misadjusted TPS, but the '72-3 TPSs have a habit of wearing out, so it's <br>
worth doing the test.<br>
<br>
Muffler cement is more like plaster or Portland cement. It ignores heat. I <br>
suspect that an exhaust connection can get too hot even for Silicones.<br>
