<div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">Something to keep in mind is that "flex" joint, or "rag joint" is also an insulator. For a while there have been some that are being marketed that aren't electrically insulated, and they actually cause the horn to "beep". Trying to find ones that don't cause the horn to go off was a problem a couple of years ago, and still might be. <div><br clear="none">To sound the horn, the horn ring is connected to a wire that runs down inside <br clear="none">the steering shaft (which is "hot") and jumps acorss the insulating flex <br clear="none">coupling.to the steering gearbox input shaft. The jumper from the steering <br clear="none">gearbox to the pan horns complete the path to ground.<br clear="none"><br clear="none">In '71, everything changed.<br clear="none"><br clear="none">Max, I hope some of this helps.
