It's hard. You have to get the housing apart, then pull the motor out 
and press the fan off the motor shaft. Then you can get to the 
resistor. I used a 1 Ohm 5 Watt (IIRC) Ohmite Brown Devil. It worked, 
but it died after a few years. A higher wattage resistor would have 
worked better, but there was no room for it.

The better option is to swap in a complete fan and housing from a '71 
or '72. Those don't use the resistor; they have a more expensive 
motor with a low speed winding, and they don't burn out.
