That's just a little bit nuts. i've seen pressure fluctuations with
throttle position, too, and big ones, but they are quickly cured by
cleaning the filter screen or replacing the inline filter. To me,
this looks like he's taken one observation and made the wrong
conclusion from it, and this led him down a very silly path.
There's no way a check valve would have ANY effect on this. Fuel
would have to try to stop or flow backwards for the check valve to
try to close. The pump is a constant displacement pump; it has no
idea of what the throttle is demanding and it's running into a
constant pressure.
Keith, since you're well versed in electronics, consider how much it
would improve the voltage regulation of a power supply if you put a
diode in series with it's output. The analogy is nearly perfect.
