[T3] Newbie with dumb questions.

The ENGLISH are using liters and the Americans still use Gallons? Just
seems there something wrong there!

I dug into the Aircooled technology forum today and found a quote from Jake
That states that the BEST they ever got from a 2056 was 27MPG, and 23-24 was
more like it on a broken in engine.

Jake's engine kits seem to have a lot of time spent getting all the stars
aligned just right so they don't overheat, and I sure spent a lot of time on
mine so I think there must be a magical aura around Mr. Vader there....
:-)

Lovely thought, that along with the man-sized turbo stuff, Brian is using
man-sized gallons. ;-)

Confession - we now refuel with piddling litres here, and they're about $2
each.

What with Brian's huge mpg and Russ producing excellent figures too, the
rest of us including VW are doing something wrong!

I trust these guys, so what's the reason? Do your odometers match the
highway mileages? No funny things happening with tyre sizes?

You sure your not looking at imperial gallons?
With all the testing and setup Jake has done on his 2056's he doesn't get
near those numbers, and Im sure he's tried everything.

Keith,
These are the real MPG numbers from my engines:
1904cc w/40 webers 31mpg freeway/city
2110cc w/40 webers 29.5 mpg freeway/city
2332cc w/48 dells 28 mpg freeway/city and 31.5 mpg all freeway at 65mph

it can be done...
