[T3] Brake Lights

I'm trying to sort thru some things in my head before I get under the car
tonight.

If the brake warning light does not light when I press the pedal, and does
light when I test it....does that tell me anything about whether these
switches might be bad or not?

Does it tell anything about whether there is 12v at the brake light
switches?

I have a black and white electrical diagram at work which is hard to
understand. I have the color one at home but just trying to troubleshoot
this from my desk before I get home.

Thanks,
