Someone local built a bicycle that way, but he had the support of Airbus to
do it! Rolls-Royce Engines and Airbus worked together on a replica of a
Bristol Fighter, and much of the engine was made that way. Doesn't work as
an engine - just for looks. Pretty intricate shapes are possible.

Speaking of hard to find parts........ Has anyone checked into so called
"Reverse Engineering" or "3D Printing"? I'm no engineer, but I know that
parts can be reproduced accurately via some of these processes. I have no
idea of cost, however, and that may be a limiting factor.
Any knowledge or experience out there? Just curious.
