As stated above, nothing should get tight, or tigher, or any change 
in tension. If you have any wire that's changing it's tightness by 
any amount when the steering shaft turns, you've wired it wrong.

You seem to be getting yourself in trouble by moving on to a new task 
before you have the problems in the last job fixed. This just 
multiplies your troubleshooting difficulties. You need to work on one 
problem at a time, check your work when you're finished, and move on 
ONLY then.
