As far as I know, the 111 wasn't ever sold in the U.S. Like I said earlier, I
looked at pics of beetles for sale on the Samba, and apparently '68 was finger
opened, '69-'72 was released from inside, and '73 on were finger operated again.
I couldn't find any exceptions. They were probably all U.S. cars though.
