[T3] Replacing Starter

Interesting that Golf or Jetta (what years?) would have such a similar starter.   But, the big question is...will that starter work for a 72 T-III?
 Maybe it's "CCW" (counter clock wise ?) when it should be CW?  I mean, it looks like it fits.

055 911 023 comes up Golf-Jetta if you Google it.
