Upon further
review; one of the 2 injector wires broke right where it entered the brass
crimp!
Luckily, I keep a few 2 foot pieces of wire with mini alligator clips on
each end (with plastic insulating boots) in my traveling tool box. Turns
out
these mini alligator clips are just the right size for fitting side by side
right into the fuel injector, in place of the original plug-in! I clipped
the other end of each wire to the original harness, electrical taped
everything to hold it all in place while driving, and away we went...all
the
way home!
So the moral to the story is to either buy or make your own set of wires
with alligator clips to keep in your traveling tool kit!
I normally carry a section of spare wire, some crimps and crimping tool,
along with some alligator clamps with a wire between them (jumper). It's a
good idea to carry something like that with a 35+ year old car.
