[T3] Wheel issues

Here's a picture of the hardware I went with to mount my aftermarket
aluminum wheels:

I positioned the blue tube at roughly the inside of the wheel, so the
threads above the blue depict actual purchase. As you can see in the stock
bolt, I had been using those for a while, and the "polished" end was all
that was holding my car up. I think *that* is the source of the "lug bolts
are dangerous" sentiment. I believe I sourced the longer bolts from an Audi
in a wrecking yard. I want to say that finding flat cone bolts was easier at
the time (2005) than the rounded bolts. So finding what you need in bolt
stock may not be an insurmountable problem...

I do agree that the stock bolts are not a good match to cast aluminum
wheels, but don't forget to keep a set on hand for use with your spare. If
you remove the studs, that is..
