[T3] Clutch question

What the position of the lever that the cable attaches too?
Is it straight up or leaning toward the bell housing or leaning toward the front of the car?

Your right 1-2 inches is a lot something is not in the right place to be that far off.

  It's the same cable, but even if there was something off with the throwout bearing, how could the cable end up being nearly 3 inches too short? It seems to me that's significantly more than the entire travel of the arm.
